I'd like to go on a budget, but hopefully find some great places - do you know anyWhile you're in Aus try to get over the west coast and snorkel the Ningaloo reef. It's a long trip to get there but far far better than the Great Barrier because of it's remoteness. It's virtually untouched and a lot of it is around 5m deep.
